2007: here’s to more substance and less spin

I love this quote by Rabbi Dr. Jonathan Sacks in Pret a Manger‘s "Good Stuff" booklet. It sums up what’s wrong with so much of society today:

"The idols of today are unmistakable:
Self-esteem without effort…
fame without achievement…
wealth without responsibility…
pleasure without struggle…
and experience without commitment"

Many of the same idols are also worshipped by companies searching for quick brand fixes, without putting in the hard work to deliver for customers.

Well, here’s to those brands determined to build success in 2007 based on substance, not spin.
