I’m thinking about ideas for promoting a branding book due out in September (also called ‘Where’s the Sausage?’). Creating a video with viral potential is an obvious  route, and when looking for inspiration I re-discovered 12 minutes of pure magic called ‘Truth in Advertising’. Its been viewed on You Tube no less than 36 000 times.

Watch it and I guarantee you’ll laugh your head off but also wince in pain; its painfully close to the bone in taking the piss out of the advertising development process. Marketing and agency people say what they’re really thinking, not the branding mumbo-jumbo that often spout.

It was produced as part of a reel to promote the work of director Tim Hamilton, who now works for Canadian production company Aviron.
