One of "hit" predictions for 2010 seems well on track to come true. Apple's iPad sold 1 million units in the first 28 days it was on sale. This is twice as fast as the sales performance of the iPhone launch.

As a signed-up Apple-aholic, I placed my pre-order today, first day you can order in the UK. And my partner David Nichols got his hand on one last week in the US (see below) and is frothing at the mouth in anticipation.
Seems to be one of those products where you're not sure what its for. But when you have one in your hands you just cannot put it down. Its an example of what INSEAD prof Chan Kim calls "blue ocean" innovation: creating a new market space that you own.
